From such an inn, situated on the land road leading to the North, there is still a gateway, and beneath the ground, enormous cellars for wine barrels.

A monument that today protects a square to which the streets of the city converge and from which starts the Danube Cliff with its three levels. Moved from its original place, its original place, it has been hidden for decades in a museum's storehouse, in orderto finally find in 1992 its place and purpose: the prospect of Dobrogea is not at all accidental. I. C. Bratianu, the patriarch of Romanian politics, looks to Dobrogea, a region joined by the Romanian state in 1878.

Mihai Eminescu’s statue from Galaţi county is the first one built in the country of this type and is made of marble by the sculpture Frederik Stork. The unveiling of the statue took place in October, the 16th 1911, in the Municipal Park which today has the name of the poet. It was a rarely encountered academic holiday which gathered Romanians from all over the country occasioning homage manifestations of national scale. Leading personalities of Romanian culture were present to this manifestation, like Mihail Sadoveanu (writer and political figure), Nicolae Iorga (writer, historian and politician), Dimitrie Anghel (poet), Ion Minulescu (writer), Emil Gârleanu (writer), Jean Bart (writer), Diliu Zamfirescu (writer, politician, diplomat, lawer), Maria Filotti (actress). Over the years the statue of Mihai Eminescu was moved to many places: in front of the Dramatic Theater, in the Public Garden and brought back to the Eminescu’s Park in 1990. Restored on many occasions, Eminescu's statue radiates from the white marble the poetry of Luceafarul's celestial cadences (the poet’s most famous poem).
