"St. Vasile cel Mare și St. Cuvioasă Parascheva" Monastery
About
The monastery and the social-philanthropic settlement "St. Vasile cel Mare "are located on the same location, in Galați, at the intersection between Basarabia Street and Poșta Veche Street, in the old center of the city, on the site of the former Central Park. The building is a representative for the Lower Danube Diocese.
The initiator of this settlement, both monastic and philanthropic, is the Bishop Cozma Petrovici of the Lower Danube.
The chapel of the monastery and the settlementis located on the ground floor of the building and has an area of approximately 30 square meters. The painting is made in Byzantine style, the fresco technique, and the iconostasis is made of beautifully sculpted oak wood.
